Janeco is an ideal base substrate for virtually any crop, and provides a lightly fertilized soil that benefits even the more "difficult" species. In addition to a light dose of fertilizer, it also contains perlite, which maintains the substrate sufficiently airy and offers an optimum water management. When growing on Janecomix soil you may not need to add nutrition during the first three weeks, depending on the number of plants and size of the pots. The soil mixture contains enough fertilizer for the first three weeks. After this period Atami advises adding liquid fertilizer to the crop for optimal results.
