About Us

Holland Horticulture is a long-established, family-run horticultural business serving customers across the Manchester region. We pride ourselves on expert knowledge, excellent service, and consistently high operational standards. We are now looking for a hands-on Branch Manager to lead the operation of our Manchester retail store and warehouse.

Role Overview

The Branch Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and professional day to day running of the branch across retail, on-line sales and warehouse functions. This is a hands-on operational and strategic role, overseeing sales, staff, shopfloor standards, warehousing, stock control, on-line sales and EPOS systems.

You will have autonomy over day-to-day operational decisions and will report directly to the company directors.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

Oversee day-to-day retail store and warehouse standards, ensuring a clean, organised, and professional environment

Maintain compliance with company procedures and operational expectations

Ensure exceptional levels of customer service across the branch

.Provide remote oversight and management support to our Huddersfield branch

Warehouse & Stock Control

Manage and support the Warehouse Supervisor

Oversee stock control, replenishment, and ordering

Maintain accurate EPOS and stock records

Ensure efficient and timely goods-in and goods-out processes

Staff Management

Lead, develop, and motivate the store and warehouse teams

Conduct staff training and support professional development

Plan and manage the staff rota for a 7-day operating schedule

Handle general HR duties in line with company policies

Decision-Making & Reporting

Make operational decisions and approve purchases within agreed limits

Produce regular operational updates and reports for the company directors

Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial or operational leadership role

Strong IT and EPOS system skills

Experience managing teams in a 7-day operational environment

Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership abilities

Ability to work flexibly across a 5-day rota (minimum 40 hours per week)
